Filipino Community in Singapore Celebrates Pagdiriwang 2018

SINGAPORE 04 July 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, in cooperation with a committee on volunteers known as “Lupon,” organized the Pagdiriwang 2018 at Kallang Theatre on 24 June 2018.

The Pagdiriwang is a yearly social and family event for the Filipino Community in Singapore to celebrate Philippine Independence Day.

The morning program featured keynote speeches by Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph Del Mar Yap, and Pagdiriwang 2018 Committee Chair Angel Sibal. They both expressed their gratitude to the volunteers, the Filipino Community, and the sponsors who contributed to the success of the event.

Pagdiriwang 2018 is a celebration of Filipino culture at its best, and featured such as Hataw Bayan Zumba Dancing, Bilbiling Filipinas, parade of Philippine regional costumes, OPM Idol Singing Contest, local band performances, and breakout sessions on personality development.

The day’s event was highlighted by a performance of Filipino television personality Dingdong Dantes, and concluded with live band performances. END
