PH Embassy in India Hosts Independence Day Reception
NEW DELHI 12 July 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi, India commemorated the 120th anniversary of Philippine independence by hosting a diplomatic reception at Shangri-La Eros Hotel in New Delhi on 12 June 2018.
India’s Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey was the event’s chief guest.
The reception was well-attended by the members of the diplomatic community, all ASEAN Heads of Missions and their representatives, government officials, and representatives of international organizations, think tanks, the media, business sector and the Filipino Community.
The reception showcased a modern Philippines through music, food, and destinations.
Baihana Trio, a group of Filipina jazz singers, who traveled to India for the event with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, entertained the crowd with Filipino, Hindi, and English songs.
During the reception, Filipino dishes as well as Indian and continental fares were served to the guests. Through the assistance of the Philippine Tourism Marketing Office in New Delhi, popular Philippine tourist attractions were also displayed on large-screen TVs and a welcome tarpaulin. END
