Copenhagen Kalayaan 1

COPENHAGEN 18 June 2019 — The newly opened Philippine Embassy in Copenhagen led the celebrations of the 121st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence in Denmark on 07 June 2019 by celebrating this year's theme “Tapang ng Bayan at Malasakit sa Mamamayan” with Filipinos and Danes in Copenhagen.

In this year's celebration, the Embassy served Philippine-inspired cuisine, showcased some of its Filipiniana collections and expanded the delivery of its services, as part of its malasakit program.

Ambassador to Denmark Leo M. Herrera-Lim read the message of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro M. Locsin, and announced that beginning 24 June 2019, the Embassy will be ready to accept and process applications for dual citizenship and Philippine passports.

During this month-long celebration, Embassy officials and staff will also participate in a fiesta-like celebration with the Filcom-Denmark in Kastrup on 08 June 2019, and a gala event by the Mabuhay Organization of Filipinos on 29 June 2019.

The Embassy likewise supported the performances of the chorale Acapella Manila in Copenhagen and the all-male choir ALERON in Aarhus, and will also support the upcoming concert of Filipino opera talent Dresden Ramos in Frederiksburg and the book launch by Danish writer Nina Andersen on the story of Filipino migrants in Denmark.

It also visited successful Filipino entrepreneurs in food business, namely Trilla in Manila located at Refshaleoen, Oha Café located at Frederiksberg, and Chindahan at Lyngbyvej. END
