PHOTO: Despite the ongoing conflict in Libya, the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli was able to commemorate the 121st anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence with members of the Filipino Community.
Embassy Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Elmer G. Cato led more than 100 members of the Filipino community in the flag raising ceremonies at the Embassy grounds on 12 June 2019. It was followed by the reading of the messages of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III by Labor Attaché Adam Musa, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. by retired Maj. Gen. Mario Chan, and President Rodrigo Duterte by CDA Cato.
The event was followed by a breakfast reception. The Embassy will be holding a cultural event and diplomatic reception commemorating the 121st year of Philippine independence in August. (Tripoli PE photo)
