PH Embassy in Prague, Filipino Community Celebrate National Day

PRAGUE 08 July 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Prague hosted a cocktail reception to celebrate the 121st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence together with the Filipino community in Czech Republic on 23 June 2019. Around 100 guests were present during the event.
The program started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by the St. Augustine Choir. Ambassador to Czech Republic Ombra T. Jainal delivered his opening remarks followed by the reading of the Independence Day messages of President Rodrigo Duterte and Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.
Ambassador Jainal congratulated each and every Filipino in the Czech Republic on the occasion and informed the community of the projects that the Embassy undertook and will be undertaking, encouraging them to take part in these activities. He assured the community that the Embassy is always ready to provide assistance, in whatever possible way that it can, within legal bounds, especially where labor-related issues are concerned.
Filipino food were served, with the Embassy providing lumpiang shanghai (meat spring rolls), bola-bola (fried meatballs) and maja blanca, while other members of the community also contributed pot-luck style. Pancit, cuchinta, chicharon, pichi-pichi and leche flan were amontg those provided by the community.
Filipino talents in the Czech Republic provided entertainment with song and dance performances from the St. Augustine Choir, Daniel Garon, Whilssy Candelaria-Hila, Jhino Baile, Michelle Bravo, Maria Vranova, Rachlle Escame and the Pinoy Dance Movers. Ten-year old Karl Adrian Dablo was a crowd favorite belting Filipino and pop hit singles. END
