PH Embassy in Santiago Celebrates PH Independence with ASEAN, Pacific Alliance, Latin American Embassies



The Philippine Embassy in Santiago, led by Ambassador-designate to Chile Ma. Teresita C. Daza, marked the 121st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence in a National Day Luncheon with the ASEAN Committee in Santiago composed of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand; the Pacific Alliance composed of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru,  and other Latin American Embassies in Chile such as the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.  The event was held at the Carnal Restaurant—meaning brotherhood or close friendship in Spanish—in Vitacura, Santiago 12 June 2019. The Embassy also conducted a flag raising ceremony at the Chancery in Las Condes prior to the luncheon. Ambassador Daza reads the national day message of President Rodrigo Duterte followed by the message of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L.  Locsin, Jr., read by Consul Dennis Briones.
