Philippine Madrigal Singers Holds a Night of Friendship Concert in Jakarta

“A Night of Friendship” concert by the Philippine Madrigal Singers (Madz) for the Filipino community and Indonesians was held for free at the Goethe Institute Jakarta on 20 June 2019 in commemoration of the 121st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and 70th Philippines-Indonesia Bilateral Relations.  The event was sponsored by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta and the Philippine Business Club Indonesia. It was a night to remember with the repertoire of Philippine folksong such as “Magdiwang, Magpuri”, “O Naraniag a Bulan”, “Tuksuahan”, “Bahay Kubo/Chitchiritchit”, “Da Coconut Nut”, “Cebuano medley: No not kamo, Tamsi, Pinggan Pinggan Pino”, “On the Wings of Love”, “Queen of the Night”, as well as Singapore’s “Dayong Sampan” and Indonesia’s “Meraih Bintan”.
