PHL Consulate General in Honolulu Commemorates 121st Anniversary of Rizal Martyrdom

03 January 2017 HONOLULU — The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu commemorated the 121st Anniversary of the martyrdom of Philippine National Hero of Dr. Jose Rizal at the Philippine Consulate General on 29 December 2017.
The simple commemoration program started with a flag-raising and singing of the Philippine national anthem by the personnel of the Consulate General, together with the Consulate’s consular services clients.
Consul Joyleen Santos and Colonel Joseph Archog, Philippine Liaison Officer to the US Pacific Command, led the offering of leis (floral garlands) at the Rizal bust to commemorate the occasion.
Consulate personnel also shared a salu-salo of Filipino-style breakfast following the program. END
