PHL Embassy in Pakistan Collaborates with the UNMOGIP in Celebration of the International Women’s Day

12 March 2018 ISLAMABAD – The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan hosted the annual celebration of the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) of the Women’s Month on March 08. The event is in commemoration of the International Women’s Day, which recognizes the achievements on women’s issues throughout the history across the UN-member nations.
The event was attended by UNMOGIP Head of Mission and Chief Military Observer Maj. Gen. Per Lodin, Ambassador Daniel R. Espiritu and Uniformed and Civilian staff members of the UNMOGIP and the Philippine Embassy personnel.
At the sidelines of the event, the Philippine Embassy has launched a photo-exhibit, which will run for the whole month of March, recognizing the contribution and heroism of various Filipinas in Philippine History as part of its 2018 women’s month celebration.
To date, there are six Filipino military observers and two civilian staff serving with the UNMOGIP. END
