PHL Consulate General in Vancouver Celebrates 2018 International Women’s Day

19 March 2018 VANCOUVER – The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver celebrated the International Women’s Day at the Consulate’s reception area on March 08. Philippine Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer delivered a short message to participants highlighting the major contributions of women in society and Vice Consul Ma. Charmaine D. Guevara shared updates on the current administration’s initiatives on women.

As part of the Consulate’s celebration, a special lane for women was assigned to serve the needs of women, children and elderly clients. Brochures and pamphlets on women, i.e. Magna Carta of Women, domestic violence and other relevant information from the Philippine Commission on Women were distributed.  These will also be available throughout the month of March.

Clients were treated to free coffee and cookies the whole day, as well as freebies like purple ribbons for clients to wear, coin purses with the National Women’s month logo, and post-its from the Department of Tourism. END
