PHL Embassy in Vientiane Hosts International Women’s Day Merienda Cena
Philippine Ambassador to Laos Belinda M. Ante issues reminders on consular services to the Filipino Community during the merienda cena.
26 March 2018 VIENTIANE — The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane, Laos hosted a merienda cena to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 08 at the Embassy premises. The event was attended by 56 members of the Filipino community.
During the event, the Embassy issued reminders on its consular and Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN), such as the issuance of ten-year validity passports. The Embassy also encouraged participants who do not have employment contracts or do not possess health insurance to speak to their employers to provide them with the necessary documents to legalize their stay in the country, as well as medical coverage. They were also advised not to seek employment from erring companies in Laos for their own protection.
The participants were also informed of upcoming activities in March 2018, such as the Vientianale Film Festival 2018, the Embassy’s Seminar on Women’s Health Issues (Breast and Ovarian Cancers), and the Community Bazaar Event of the Lao Disabled Women’s Development Center.
In addition to the merienda cena, the Embassy also gave away flowers and tokens to the female members of the Filipino Community. END
