PHL Embassy in Phnom Penh Celebrates National Women's Month
Female consular applicants are given priority during International Women's Day on March 08 through the Special Women's Lane. They are also given a brochure on the Magna Carta for Women.
02 April 2018 PHNOM PENH – The Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia rounded up its celebration of National Women's Month with a Health Talk on the common health concerns of women on March 24. Facilitated by Noble Life International, the Health Talk was given by Dr. Lloyd Asor, a pathologist and General Practitioner with the Veterans Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Asor explained the usual causes of and possible treatments for breast cancer and cervical cancer. The Health Talk was followed by free medical consultations by Dr. Asor. Almost 50 Filipinas came and participated in the activity.
For the whole month of March, the ladies of the Philippine Embassy led the weekly flag raising ceremony as they sang the special version of "Lupang Hinirang" developed by the Philippine Commission on Women.
On International Women's Day on March 08, the Embassy opened a Special Women's Lane in the consular section to prioritize female applicants. They were given a brochure of the Magna Carta for Women and treated to some light snacks. END
