PH Ambassador to UAE Leads the Community Singing in “Paskong Pinoy Sa Abu Dhabi”

ABU DHABI 06 January 2020 — Philippine Ambassador to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hjayceelyn M. Quintana led the community singing of “Ang Pasko ay Sumapit”, the finale number at the “Paskong Pinoy sa Abu Dhabi, A Christmas Chorale Concert in the Year of Tolerance” held at the Al Jaheli Theatre of the Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel on 06 December 2019.

Around 250 chorale singers of all ages, from grade school students to professionals, sang popular Filipino Christmas songs.

The concert is the biggest event organized by the Philippine Embassy in the UAE-declared Year of Tolerance. In her remarks, Ambassador Quintana expressed the hope that “Paskong Pinoy” Christmas Concert will become an annual tradition to usher in the Christmas season in the UAE. Ambassador Quintana shared that she started the “Paskong Pinoy” series in her previous overseas posts such as Washington, D.C., Dublin, and Muscat and are now being continued by the Filipino communities in these locations.

This year’s concert in Abu Dhabi was again enhanced by the bright, colourful and iconic Christmas lanterns called Parul Sampernandu flown in from the Philippines through the generosity of the City Government of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Paskong Pinoy sa Abu Dhabi was supported by the Bayanihan Council, Philippine Emirates Private School Chorus, The Philippine School Woodwind and Chorale Ensemble, The Philippine Global School Youth Chorale, St. Mary’s Filipino Community Choir (Dubai), Filipino Christian Church Choir, Abu Dhabi Concert Chorus, Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit at Mananayaw sa Abu Dhabi, Xceed Events LLC, Philippine Business Council - Abu Dhabi, ShooterCada Photographers Circle, Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers - Abu Dhabi Chapter, and Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines - UAE Chapter.
