PH Embassy in Yangon Helps 29 Filipinos Fly Home to Manila

YANGON 13 October 2020 – A total of 29 distressed Filipinos in Myanmar returned home to the Philippines through a special relief flight from Yangon to Manila organized by the Philippine Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar in coordination with Myanmar National Airlines (MNA).

The MNA waived the cost of airfare except for taxes resulting in a minimal fee of USD 23.25. The relief flight departed Yangon International Airport for Manila at 12:00 NN on 11 October 2020 and arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on the same day at around 5:00 PM (Manila Time).

Apart from Filipinos negatively impacted by the pandemic, Filipino workers who are on a work-from-home arrangement with their employers joined the relief flight.

This is the ninth relief flight facilitated by the Philippine Embassy in Yangon to help Filipino nationals return to the Philippines. END
