Five Filipinos from Fujian Province Join Charter Flight in Guangzhou to PH

XIAMEN 13 November 2020 — The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen reports that five Filipinos from Fujian Province joined the charter flight arranged by the Philippine government for stranded Filipinos in China. A total of 86 Filipinos from all-over China took the flight from Guangzhou, Guandong Province, China to Manila on 11 November 2020.

The repatriation flight is the third to be arranged by the Philippine government in response to the calls by a number of land-based Filipinos as well as Filipino seafarers who were stranded in China who wanted but could not return to the Philippines due to travel restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since March 2020, the Consulate General in Xiamen has arranged the repatriation of 226 Filipinos, including stranded seafarers, students, human remains and other Filipinos from Fujian province to the Philippines. END
