CAIRO 18 November 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Cairo successfully concluded its Consular Outreach at the Philippine Consulate in Khartoum, Sudan from 13 to 15 November 2020. The two-person mission was composed of Third Secretary and Vice Consul Bojer B. Capati and Consular Assistant, Passport Processor, and Voter Registration Machine Operator Walter C. Rosario. They were assisted by Consul, ad honorem of the Philippines to Sudan, Tarig El-Nefeidi.
In Khartoum, a total of 206 consular services were processed, including 193 passport renewals. A total of 63 overseas Filipino voters were registered or reactivated and transferred voting precinct to Sudan/Egypt.
Sudan is home to approximately 3,000 Filipinos and consular missions to Khartoum are usually conducted biannually. In 2020, only this mission could be organized due to COVID-19 restrictions.
After the consular mission, Sudan-based Filipinos expressed their appreciation. END
