Governor General Receives Credentials of PH Ambassador to Canada

OTTAWA 03 December 2020 – In a virtual ceremony hosted by Rideau Hall, Governor General Julie Payette of Canada formally received the Letter of Credence of Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo D. Robles on 30 November 2020. 

The ceremony, broadcasted live on the social media channel of the Office of the Governor General, fully accredits Ambassador Robles as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Canada. 

In their cordial exchange, Ambassador Robles spoke highly of the contribution of the Filipino diaspora in Canada as frontline healthcare workers and essential services staff. Governor General Payette acknowledged the integration of the Filipino diaspora as “part of the Canadian fabric.”

There are almost one million Filipinos in Canada, the second largest diaspora after those in the United States of America. END
