NAGOYA 23 December 2020 – Philippine Consul General to Nagoya Celeste Vinzon-Balatbat, who heads the recently-opened third Philippine Foreign Service Post in Japan, expressed appreciation to Mayor Takashi Kawamura of Nagoya City for hosting the Philippine Consulate General in Nagoya during a meeting on 23 December 2020.

The City of Nagoya in the Aichi prefecture is home to the largest concentration of Filipinos in Japan.

Immediately after the courtesy call on Mayor Kawamura, Consul-General Balatbat and representatives from the Philippine Consulate-General in Nagoya met with Novel Coronavirus Disease Control Office Director Atsushi Takakura.

The introductory meeting was an opportunity to explore ways for the City Government and the Consulate to work together in disseminating information on COVID countermeasures to the Filipino community in Nagoya and sharing of data on Filipinos affected by COVID-19. END
