Philippine Ambassador Meets with Egyptian Commercial Service to Advance PH-Egypt Trade Activities

CAIRO 14 January 2021 – Philippine Ambassador to Egypt Sulpicio M. Confiado, accompanied by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Mr. Bojer B. Capati, met with First Undersecretary and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Dr. Ahmed Maghawary Diab, and Commercial Counselor Nashwa Bakr, and discussed initiatives to further the economic exchanges between the Philippines and Egypt on 06 January 2021.
Ambassador Confiado and Dr. Diab both conveyed eagerness and enthusiasm to advance the trade relations of the two countries, particularly in food and agricultural products like citrus, dates, strawberries, and potatoes.
Plans for a Philippine-Egypt virtual trade conference, as well as site visits to Egypt’s industrial zones are also on preparatory stages. Studies on food production, seasonality and trade regulation practices in the Philippines and Egypt are also being undertaken. END
