SAN FRANCISCO 11 February 2021 — Newly arrived Consul General of the Philippines in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer called on the U.S. State Department’s Director of its Office of Foreign Missions (OFM) in San Francisco Clayton Stanger on 05 February 2021.
Director Stanger extended a warm welcome to Consul General Ferrer upon his arrival in San Francisco. He noted the continuing excellent relations between the Philippines and the United States and looked forward to continued cooperation between the Philippine Consulate General and OFM.
OFM ensures that Consulates are connected with local officials, especially in performing their mandate of assisting their nationals. Director Stanger cited, in particular, the smooth working relationship between their two offices that resulted in the immediate repatriation of Filipino seafarers onboard the Grand Princess cruise ship in March 2020.
Consul General Ferrer reaffirmed the Consulate’s desire “to continue working with OFM to ensure that Filipino nationals in the United States are duly assisted, especially during emergencies.” END
