PH, Palestine Discuss Ways to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

AMMAN 15 February 2021 – Non-resident Philippine Ambassador to Palestine Akmad A. Sakkam met with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Amman, Jordan on 09 February 2021.
The two sides explored ways on how to deepen Philippines-Palestine relations on various aspects. Ambassador Sakkam and Minister Al-Maliki discussed the possibility of conducting political consultations between the two countries, increasing business opportunities for both sides, exchange of knowledge and expertise, particularly in the field of agriculture, and strengthening people-to-people ties.
Ambassador Sakkam and Foreign Minister Al-Maliki also exchanged views on the common challenges being encountered by both countries in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and on the latest developments in the Middle East.
Minister Al-Maliki conveyed Palestine’s gratitude to the Philippines for its consistent support to the people of Palestine in various fora. Ambassador Sakkam assured Minister Al-Maliki that Palestine can rely on the Philippines for its continued support and friendship. END
