HANOI 19 March 2021 — Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Meynardo LB. Montealegre paid a courtesy call on Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on 17 March 2021 to discuss the enhancement of the Strategic Partnership between the Philippines and Vietnam.
Ambassador Montealegre extended President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s congratulations on Prime Minister Phuc’s re-election to the Politburo and congratulated Vietnam on its successful chairmanship of ASEAN in 2020, its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, the fruitful conclusion of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as Vietnam’s effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic.
