PH Consulate General in Hong Kong Mounts its 12th Special Flight for Stranded OFWs

HONG KONG 04 June 2021 — The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong successfully conducted another special flight to repatriate 88 stranded Overseas Filipino Workers in Hong Kong who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic due to flight cancelations. The repatriates are among the 150 regular passengers of Philippine Airlines flight 301 who left the Hong Kong International Airport on 01 June 2021 at 11:40 AM.
Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Raly L. Tejada spearheaded the repatriation, with the assistance of officers and staff of the Consulate General, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Philippine Airlines (PAL).
All repatriates were overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) with nine of them medical cases. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Philippine government for bringing them back home to their loved ones in the Philippines.
This is the 12th special flight arranged by the PCG Hong Kong for stranded Filipinos in Hong Kong since the COVID-19 pandemic started last year, bringing home a total of 2,172 distressed Filipinos. END
