TOKYO 05 November 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Japan donated commemorative stamps and first-day covers to the Postal Museum Japan in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the UN, as well as the Philippines’ pioneering membership. The event also coincided with the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union, the primary forum for international cooperation in the postal sector, of which the Philippines and Japan are members.

Philippine Embassy in Tokyo Chargé d'affaires (CDA) Christian L. De Jesus handed over the donation to Postal Museum Japan Executive Fellow Eisuke Fujimoto. The museum features a vast collection of global and Japanese postal stamps, including 3,660 Philippine stamps dated back to 1864.

CDA De Jesus described the museum as “a remarkable showcase of the connection between art and history, and the lasting role of postal systems in connecting hearts and minds.”

The UN commemorative stamp and first-day cover were launched through a collaboration between the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Postal Corporation on 25 June 2025. They were designed by Third Secretary Marthy Angue of the Philippine Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta. END
