23 August 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Singapore informed the Department of Foreign Affairs that the United Architects of the Philippines-Singapore (UAPS) hosted two officers from the Advance Science and Technology Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Mr. Alvin Retamar and Mr. Gerwin Guba, on a study tour to Singapore as part of the organization’s Technological and Sustainability Tour program.
Mr. Retarmar and Mr. Guba were accompanied by UAPS officers on visits to the Building and Construction Authority’s zero-energy building, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Housing Development Board’s Building and Research Institute, Singapore Green Building Council, and Eurolite Technologies, among others.
Before concluding the visit, the Mr. Retamar and Mr. Guba, together with UAPS officers Raffy Retuyan and John Marvin Daranciang Ngo. paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Minda Calaguian-Cruz. The call gave Mr. Retamar and Mr. Guba the opportunity to update the Ambassador on DOST’s latest projects, including those with regard to disaster mitigation.
Ambassador Calaguian-Cruz shared with them the best practices and partnership opportunities in Singapore. END
