27 August 2013 – The Jeduthun, a group of young priests from the Dioceses of Tagbilaran and Talibon, Bohol performed at various venues in the US Northeast Region in August 2013.

From Vermont, to New York and New Jersey, the singing priests presented several charity shows to benefit the Diocese of Talibon, Bohol in the Philippines.

The Jeduthun is composed of Fr. Irvin B. Garsuta, Rev. Fr. Nazario Tiempo, Rev. Fr. Adolfo Dagohoy, Rev. Fr. Mario Ombao, Rev. Fr. Diosdado Cutas, and Fr. Gerson Justiniani. The group was led by Msrg. Alberto Sy Uy and Msgr. Orencio Jubac.

The group held well-received performances at the Assumption Church and San Sebastian Church in New York and two performances at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Leonia, New Jersey to mixed Filipino and American audiences.

The priests entertained audiences with their renditions of sacred hymns, Tagalog and Visayan medleys, and recent pop hits.  Their performances were likewise dedicated to Filipino Saint Pedro Calungsod.

Consul General Mario L. De Leon, Jr., together with his spouse Eleanor, Deputy Consul General Theresa de Vega, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York Eduardo de Vega attended the Jeduthun performance in New Jersey while Consul Felipe Carino represented the Consulate at the group’s performance in Queens, New York.

Consul General de Leon remarked at the start of the concert in Leonia, that the Jeduthun are not only in the US to help out with the needs of their Diocese but also to spread faith and love to overseas Filipino Communities who long to re-connect with their homeland.

Prior to their performances, the group paid a courtesy call on Consul General de Leon at the Philippine Center in New York. END
