23 July 2013 – Philippine Consul General in Osaka Maria Teresa L. Taguiang paid a courtesy call on Kobe City Mayor Tatsuo Yada on July 23.

During the courtesy call, Consul General Taguiang expressed appreciation to Mayor Yada for the support received by Filipino nationals in Kobe City and Hyogo Prefecture. The Consul General recommended more business cooperation between the Philippines and Kobe City and encouraged more investments in the manufacturing sector to create more jobs for Filipinos. The possibility of exchange student programs between Philippine universities and Kobe University and other schools in Kobe was also raised.    

When natural disasters strike the Philippines, Kobe City is among the first to offer support and assistance through the Consulate.  END
