10 September 2013 - The Philippine Consulate General is pleased to report that it was invited to the blessing and opening of the new branch office of the Philippine National Bank (PNB)-Allied Bank held on September 09, at the Micronesia Mall Guam.

The opening of the new office is the result of the merger of the two Filipino banks, PNB and Allied Bank, and part of the Bank’s effort to intensify and bring its services much closer to the Filipinos living on Guam as well as the general public by putting it in a more strategic location. Micronesia Mall is located in the village of Dededo, where most Filipinos are residing.

The blessing of the new office was officiated by Rev. Fr. Dan Bien, a Filipino priest at Sta. Barbara church, Dededo, and Rev. Fr. Jonathan Alvarez from Yigo village, who were also joined by Rev. Fr. Carlos Vila, also a Filipino priest from St. Anthony/St. Victor church in Tamuning.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Senator Dennis G. Rodriguez, Jr. of the 32nd Guam Legislature, Mayor Melissa Savares of Dededo, together with Mr. Serafin Agdagdag, Manager of Philippine National Bank Guam Branch, Mr. Angel Bautista, Branch Marketing Officer of PNB Guam Branch, and Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, Acting Head of Post.

The event was also attended by Bank of Guam President and CEO, Mrs. Lourdes Leon-Guerrero, Ms. Jackie Marati, Senior Vice President for Marketing, Bank of Guam, Mr. Romeo Angel, Vice President of Bank of Guam, Mr. Vic Lo Micronesia Mall Operations Manager, Mr. Arturo Ilagan, Commissioner of the Guam Department of Revenue and Taxation, Mrs. Tessie Marcos, Filipino Community of Guam Board of Trustees member, other special invited guests from the business sector, members of the Filipino community, media representatives and bank clients.

Allied Bank opened on Guam as a remittance bank in April 1981 while the Philippine National Bank started operation on the island in year 1990. In February 2013, the PNB and Allied Bank completed its merger and adopted the Philippine National Bank brand.  The two banks are owned by business tycoon Mr. Lucio Tan.

PNB Guam products and services include, among others, remittance credit to PNB/Allied Bank account and to other Bank's account in the Philippines, notify and pay (cash payment), door-to-door delivery in Peso and US Dollar, US Government Pension Direct Deposits, Business Loans, Personal Loans and Foreign Exchange.
