23 September 2013 - The Philippines will be participating in the Hotel Show 2013 on from September 28 to 30, at the Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai through its Design Philippines pavilion located at Hall 3, Stand Numbers 3C01- 3D01.
Designed to showcase the Art of the Filipino Craftsman, the pavilion brings to the Middle East products of unparalleled craftsmanship transforming natural and indigenous materials into creations that embody the merging of tradition and modernity.
The Philippines sets itself apart from stiff competition in the global furniture and furnishings industry as it gears towards international competitiveness and quality in its products. Local manufacturers are putting emphasis on sustainability through inventive and skillful design. In using natural and indigenous materials, the tropical feel of the country's furniture and furnishings gives off an effortless vibe that takes people away from the busy urban life - aptly suiting the requirements of today's hospitality industry.
Taking advantage of the MENA region’s business tourism value which is predicted to grow to US$44.8 billion by 2022, Philippine furniture and furnishings is one of the sectors with the highest potential of increasing the country’s export performance. In 2012, the country’s woodcraft and furniture sectors’ export sales amounted to US$2.34 billion, as reported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). This figure reflects the 26.6 percent growth compared to the US$1.85 billion sales in 2011.
Organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), DTI’s export promotions arm, the Philippine participation features select furniture and furnishing manufacturers like Catalina Embroideries, Inc., Cebu Fil Veneer Corporation, Craft Mill, Inc., Dale Mathis Studio, Inc., Diretso, The Gilded Expressions, Lightworks Resources, Maze Manufacturing Co., Inc., More Than A Chair, Inc., and Padua International Corporation.
The Hotel Show is one of the most important business event for the hospitality, hotel, and tourism industry.
