
24 September 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Paris, in partnership with the French Embassy in the Philippines, facilitated the conduct of a study tour of officials from the Bureau of the Treasury, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Land Bank of the Philippines in Paris, France from September 9 to 13.
The study tour was organized as part of the Government’s efforts to operationalize the Treasury Single Account (TSA). This study tour falls within the ambit of the Public Financial Management Program (PFMP), which is a long-term partnership between the Governments of he Philippines and Australia (AusAID) to improve the efficiency, accountability and transparency of public fund use in the Philippines.
The delegation was headed by Treasurer Rosalia de Leon and included officials from the Bureau of the Treasury, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Land Bank of the Philippines, and the PFMP.
During their week in Paris, the delegation met with officials from the Public Finance General Directorate (DGFIP) and the Agence France Trésor (AFT) of the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance, the International Technical Assistance Agency (ADETEF), Merrill Lynch and the French Central Bank (BdF).
Treasurer Rosalia de Leon also joined the official meetings of Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima with the Mouvement des Entreprises Françaises (MEDEF), the French Development Agench (AFD) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). END
