9 November 2013 – After the temporary suspension of consular operations due to the destructive threat of Super Typhoon “Yolanda,” Regional Consular Offices (RCOs) of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in affected provinces will resume its consular operations on November 11 (Monday).
The DFA’s RCOs in Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Butuan, Legazpi, Lucena, Lipa and Puerto Princesa will be back in operations after being closed from November 08 to 09 (Friday to Saturday).
Mindful of the safety of passport applicants, structural integrity assessments of the RCOs were conducted before the decision to resume operations was made.
On the other hand, RCO Tacloban City has yet to resume its consular operations. DFA will conduct a thorough damage assessment in the said RCO and undertake appropriate measures for the immediate resumption of consular services.
