On the US Department of State's 2017 TIP Report

The Philippines welcomes the U.S. Department of State's Trafficking in Persons Report of 2017, which places the Philippines in Tier 1 for the second consecutive year.

The 2017 TIP Report validates the effectiveness of the Philippines' wholistic and aggressive approach to eliminating human trafficking.

We will continue working with domestic and international partners, including the United States, to remain fully compliant with anti-TIP standards. This affirmation further strengthens our resolve to protect our people from trafficking, through institutionalizing preventive measures, protecting vulnerable groups, and bringing the traffickers and their accomplices to justice.
