Public Advisory from the PH Embassy in the U.S. on Job Placement Agencies

WASHINGTON 30 July 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. wishes to advise members of the Filipino Community in the United States that the Philippine Embassy and Consulates General in the U.S. DO NOT issue letters of appreciation to job placement agencies.

The public is advised to exercise caution in dealing with entities that are claiming association with the Philippine Embassy or Consulates General, presenting job offers, and charging placement fees.

It is further advised that questions regarding the existence and legitimacy of job placement agencies may also be addressed to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administrative (POEA), the principal office of which is located in Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Filipinos in U.S. and in other parts of the world should remain vigilant in identifying possible fraudulent schemes by unscrupulous individuals or organizations. END
