Statement: On Arrival of 150 Repatriates from Abu Dhabi

20 September 2018 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will welcome tomorrow, 21 September 2018 the eighth batch of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who availed themselves of the amnesty offer of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A total of 150 OFWs from Abu Dhabi are expected to arrive at Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 8:40 a.m.

According to Ambassador to UAE Hjayceelyn M. Quintana, the latest batch, which is the third to be repatriated from Abu Dhabi, will bring to 988 the total number of Filipinos flown home by the DFA since the start of the UAE’s amnesty program last month.

The DFA shouldered the cost of the exit fees and plane tickets, and will provide P5,000.00 financial assistance to each OFW upon arrival in Manila. END
