Statement: On Assistance to Injured OFW in Qatar
28 September 2018 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is looking after a visiting overseas Filipino worker from Bahrain who suffered multiple injuries after she was allegedly pushed off the balcony of the apartment in Qatar where she was temporarily staying.
The Philippine Embassy in Doha said the 34-year-old receptionist, sustained injuries to her head and other parts of the body after she fell five stories early morning of Friday. She was taken to a local hospital where she was visited by Embassy personnel.
Ambassador Allan Timbayan said the OFW arrived in Doha in July and was supposed to return to Bahrain next week when the incident happened. He said the Embassy is contacting the next of kin of the Injured OFW and that police are investigating the two other Filipinas staying with her in the apartment. END
