Bulletin: On Building Collapse in Bahrain

10 October 2018 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has expressed its condolences to Bahrain after four persons were killed and 20 others injured in the collapse of an apartment building housing foreign workers in Manama on Tuesday evening.

In its report to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, the Philippine Embassy in Manama said no Filipinos were reported to be among the dead and injured in the incident that occurred in the Salmaniya area of the capital.

Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso Ferdinand Ver said initial investigation showed that the collapse of the old two-story apartment building was caused by a gas cylinder explosion. END
