Bulletin: On Kenya Bus Accident

11 October 2018 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) extended its sympathies to Kenya after 56 people were killed when a passenger bus overturned in the western part of the country early Wednesday.

In a report to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi said none of the estimated 385 Filipinos in Kenya were among the victims in the accident.

Ambassador to Kenya Uriel Norman Garibay said the bus was travelling along Londiani-Muhoroni Road from Nairobi to the western town of Kakamega when the accident happened. No other vehicle was involved. Police have yet to determine the cause of the accident. END
