On the Death of a Filipina in Japan

02 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) extends its condolences to the family of a 48-year-old Filipina who was fatally stabbed in Japan on Thursday evening.

The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo informed the Home Office that the victim succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Hamamatsu on Friday.

Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel V assured the family of the victim that all efforts will be exerted to ensure that justice is served.

Ambassador Laurel said the Embassy is working closely with Japanese police authorities who have informed him that a suspect is now in their custody. END
