On the Storms and Severe Flooding in Italy

05 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) expresses its sympathies to the families of the 29 people killed in Italy’s worst storms and floodings in decades.

Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco informed the Home Office that no Filipino casualties have so far been reported. He advised the estimated 168,000 Filipinos in Italy to monitor the movement of the storm and heed the warnings of local officials.

The Philippine Embassy in Rome, the Consulate General in Milan, and the Honorary Consulate in Venice are in touch with Filipino community leaders who are monitoring the situation in Abruzzo, Liguria, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, and Trentino Alto Adige, which remain on full alert. END
