On Arrival of 159 Repatriates from UAE and Jordan

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has repatriated another 159 Filipino workers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan. On Friday, 128 undocumented Filipinos who availed themselves of the amnesty offer of the UAE, arrived from Abu Dhabi. This brings to 2,281 the total number of Filipinos flown home by the DFA since the start of the amnesty program in August. On Thursday, the DFA repatriated 31 Filipinos, mostly victims of illegal recruitment and trafficking, from Jordan. The DFA shouldered their exit fines and airline tickets to Manila and their respective provinces. Cash assistance was also provided to each of the repatriates. END
