 On the Wildfires in California

10 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is closely monitoring two large wildfires that are raging in Ventura County, California.  Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz said the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles has alerted the 25,879 members of the Filipino Community in Ventura County about the fires that have already claimed the lives of five people. He said the Hill Fire is burning through the canyons along the Camarillo Springs and California State University-Channel Islands, while the fire is near Woolsey Canyon Road. Consul General Cruz said there are no reports so far of Filipinos being affected by the fires that required the evacuation of some residents near high-risk areas. END
