Update on the Fighting in Gaza

15 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continues to monitor the situation in Gaza following the ceasefire that was announced late Tuesday evening. The Philippine Embassy in Amman also reported that all the 109 members of the Filipino Community in Gaza are safe and have not been affected by the latest wave of violent exchanges between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants that has resulted in 32 casualties. Ambassador to Jordan Akmad Atlah Sakkam said the Embassy remains in touch with Filipinos in Gaza and has advised them to remain vigilant. The Embassy had earlier advised them to avoid public places and to be on alert when taking public transport. END
