11 December 2018 – The Philippines and Israel today signed a new labor agreement that would allow as many as 1,000 Filipinos to work in hotels in Israel.

The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv said the agreement, which was signed by Labor Secretray Silvestre Bello III and Israeli Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, will allow Filipino workers to work as cleaners in Israeli hotels.

Ambassador to Israel Neal Imperial said as many as 1,000 jobs are expected to be generated by the agreement, which comes just three months after a landmark accord on Filipino caregivers was signed between the Philippines and Israel during the visit of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in September.

Based on the estimates of the Embassy, there are 28,000 Filipinos currently working in Israel. END
