26 December 2018 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is monitoring the situation in Syria following a series of explosions in Damascus late Tuesday evening. 

 

The Philippine Embassy in Damascus said explosions were heard after Syrian air defense systems intercepted several missiles that reportedly targeted several weapons storage facilities in the capital. 

 

Chargé d’Affaires Alex Lamadrid said there were no Filipinos affected by the explosions but the Embassy immediately advised the 1,000 members of the Filipino Community in Syria to remain vigilant. END
