Bulletin: On the Gas Explosion in Paris
13 January 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has been informed there were no Filipinos among the victims of the explosion at a bakery in the French capital on Saturday.
The Philippine Embassy in Paris said it was informed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs that none of the three fatalities or the almost 50 who were injured in the blast was from the Philippines.
Chargé d’Affaires Aileen Mendiola has extended the condolences of the Embassy to the loved ones of the three fatalities. She said the explosion at the bakery along Rue de Trevise was believed caused by a gas leak.
There are around 25,000 Filipinos in France, majority of them in Paris. END
