On the Explosion of a Tanker in South Korea
01 October 2019 — Fifteen Filipino seafarers of the Stolt Groenland tanker that was shattered by explosion while berthed in Ulsan, South Korea on 27 September 2019 were reported safe after being evacuated together with Russian and other crew members.
The explosion which also caused fire to a nearby tanker wounded nine (9) other seafarers, two of whom were reportedly Filipinos.
The Philippine Embassy in Seoul is closely coordinating with the South Korean authorities to ascertain their condition and make sure that they are out of harm's way. END
