On the Filipino Car Crash Fatalities in Singapore
02 January 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) and its Consular Office in Angeles, Pampanga, received in the evening of 1 January 2020 the remains of one of the two fatalities, both overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), in the unfortunate car accident at Lucky Plaza in Singapore on 29 December 2019.
On board a flight from Singapore, the remains of Arlyn Nucos were brought home by her sister-in-law, who is also an OFW in Singapore, and were received in Clark International Airport by her siblings. A simple ceremony and a mass were held in Singapore before Nucos’ remains were flown to the Philippines.
The wake of Nucos will be held in her hometown in La Union.
Meanwhile, the DFA, through OUMWA and the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, is in close coordination with relevant authorities on when the remains of the other Filipino victim will be repatriated. END
