Public Advisory: On the Temporary Suspension of Travel to Kuwait

08 March 2020 - The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Embassies in Abu Dhabi and Doha as well as the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, received reports of transiting Filipinos enroute to Kuwait who might be stranded in airports in UAE and Qatar due to a travel ban imposed by the State of Kuwait. The said Embassies and Consulate General are currently checking international airports within their jurisdictions for affected Filipinos.

The Embassies in Abu Dhabi and Doha and the Consulate in Dubai stand ready to provide assistance, including facilitating flight back to the Philippines, to all affected kababayan.

The DFA likewise re-echoes its advisory informing the Filipino public that the Deputy Director General of Kuwait International Airport (KWI) has temporarily suspended all incoming flights to KWI from the Philippines, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, and Syria, as a measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The travel ban was put into effect for a period of one week starting 06 March 2020. END
