Statement on the Demise of Retired Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez


With deep sympathies, the Department of Foreign Affairs announces the demise of retired Ambassador Patricia Ann V. Paez on Friday, 29 May 2020.

Ambassador Paez was assigned at the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, Poland as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary prior to her retirement on 24 December 2018. She was also assigned at the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. as Third Secretary and Vice Consul and Administrative Officer from 1999 to 2008.

Ambassador Paez also served as Assistant Secretary of the Office of American Affairs from 2010 to 2013. An acknowledged authority on Philippine foreign policy, she also served in various capacities in other government agencies prior to joining the DFA, and including from the DFA on detail to the Office of the President during the term of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

The wake of Ambassador Paez starts today, 30 May 2020, until 01 June 2020 at Arlington Memorial Chapel, 12 G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. Inurnment is scheduled after the cremation on Tuesday, 02 June 2020, at 1:00 P.M.
