Bulletin: Update No. 2 On the Explosion in Beirut, Lebanon

PASAY CITY 05 August 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs received information from its Philippine Embassy Beirut that 10 of the 11 missing seafarers initially reported have been found safe and accounted for.

The 10 suffered minor injuries and are now with the management of the shipping company Abu Merhi Cruises at Ain el Mraiseh, Beirut. The company operates the Orient Queen Cruises

This recent development leaves one seafarer still missing.

Philippine Embassy Beirut will continue to ascertain the conditions of the seafarers and the other Filipinos who were reported hospitalized.

The DFA also informs the public that all its Embassy personnel are safe, with no reported physical damage in its premises.
